THIS IS OUR MONTHLY HIKING EVENT AT THE CENTER
We will gather at mid day to enjoy a POT-LUCK meal together as we discuss wolf behavior, wolf legends, and some basic safety procedures. After lunch we will head to the 3,5 mile trail in the company of the pack. We will hike through mountain tops and stunning valleys to return back to the rescue center where we you will be able to socialize with the animals inside a heated tent with warm drinks. At the end we will be thanked by a howling concert.
Since pre-historic times, man has been associated with the Wolf through a common bond. Revered and admired for its hunting skill, as well as its social structure and affectionate bonding, man’s early survival was due in large to their close association with the Wolf, both as protector and fellow hunter. For the Native American Indians the Wolf was the possessor of magical powers. A spiritual animal that presented all of the best qualities that they hoped to reflect in their lives: nobility, love, care and protection of family, excellent hunting skill, and a keen sense of survival. Therefore, the Wolf was for them a mentor and model that showed them how to conduct their lives, not only to survive, but to live with honor and dignity.
ome Join us and reconnect with this ancient bond and experience an evening of wildlife education and spiritual connection in the company of these magical creatures.
PLEASE BRING: FOOD TO ENJOY AND SHARE, long pants and hiking shoes. Water bottle or camelback, a warm jacket and an extra t-shirt
