There are two assignments for this week and this is the first one. PLEASE DON"T FORGET TO DO THE OTHER ONE AS WELL ENTITLED: GENERAL ASSIGNMENT - WEEK 4
This last week we had the privilege of working with the street poets. This group has literally saved the lives of countless people through poetry and spoken word.
During our circle we heard amazing poems from the street poets and from the Phoenix Students ... and here is the assignments for this week DUE TUESDAY MIDNIGHT:
ASSIGNMENT - 2 PARTS:
PART 1: Post your poem on the group ... you can post the entire poem or any piece of it with a minimum of 8 lines.
You all had something to say so THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO FIND YOUR VOICE AND BE HEARD AND SEEN BY OTHERS WITHOUT JUDGMENTS.
So the first person that you needs to stop judging you is yourself ... this means that all have different styles BUT we all have something to say SO whatever you wrote is excellent already. Don't give it a second thought and let it come out.
PART 2: Share how it was for you to listen to other people's poems ... and how it was for you to put your thoughts, feelings, and experiences on paper.
We are looking forward to reading your individual expressions ...

I've never wrote any poetry in my life but this gathering with all of you and the Street Poets was truly profound for me. I was really inspired by the street poets' pieces and this is what came out of me:
Buried in my bones
I have this deep yearning for evolution ... for humanity to heal
I see all that beauty that could be
but not yet.
Every breath I take, every beat of my heart
is dedicated to raising consciousness
Raising my vibration and those of broken tribes
and lost humans
There is all this truth in my heart that I still can't speak
I'm not strong enough
Buried in my bones
I have a commitment that will never let me quit
There is a vastness in my heart
that will take it all in
all the pain,
all the sorrow and sadness
and the pain, and jealousy
and the greed, pettiness, and stupidity
the ignorance and blindness that has ever been and is.
... Alchemy
There is a burning fire in my hear that will transmute it all
Until I cease to exist
Until I cease t be a man, a woman, or even human
Behind my eyes
there is an impersonal, timeless elder
that sees the best in people
that sees potential
That sees.
