Friday Night Rescue

Yesterday night as I was in Palmdale, I was driving past the AV Mall and saw two dogs running down the busy street. I freaked and went back as soon as I could to try to catch them but as they were running I noticed they would occasionally glance back and I saw no one.

I found them in the 24 Hr Fitness parking lot and grabbed some of our wolf leashes that I luckily had. I called to them and the little boxer puppy came instantly. He was so cute and adorable, licking me all over…

A little about me...

I grew up on an 80 acre horse ranch in northern Missouri. There I raised and trained siberian huskies. I specialized in pack structure, lead skills, and wheel dogs. When it came time to raise the last litter I knew i could be no more attatched to any of these pups than any of the others.

When I am not training them, I am cleaning up after them, but as a human socialization tool I always kept one random pup out for 'play time'. I never used balls or any tools, but just running…

Had fun meeting everyone - 4 legged and 2 legged alike :o)

I had a nice time meeting everyone yesterday, 2/13/10. It was interesting to see the various personalities in the wolves. I am honored to have shared time with them and to have received so many special kisses :o)

This is truly a unique and special family. It's easy to see how very special all of these people are. I'm so glad I was able to go and spend time observing and interacting with everyone.

I'll miss being there next week, 2/20/10 - I'm…

WOLF MOON TONIGHT - Biggest and Brightest Full Moon of 2010

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.

This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

But why will this moon be bigger than others? Here's how the moon… Continue

First Post :o)

Hello,

I met Teo at Villa Lobos on 1/23/10. I went to help with the dog walking, and found out about this site and the work that's being done to help the wolves.

All of our children have paws and tails.

We have 3 rescued dogs, and a Wolf/Husky Hybrid that's about 9 months old now.

We live in the Mojave Desert near Edwards Air Force Base on 2 1/2 acres. We have almost no neighbors, and lots of open desert around us. Being 2 1/2 miles down a dirt road,… Continue

Abeka the Shy Wolf

I got the shy wolf, Abeka out for the first time on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. That morning was cold, Drew and I were the first to arrive like usual. Drew went around to the outside of the wolf kennels to the scrap piles of fencing and old cages while I went up to greet the pups.

Liwanu and Abeka's kennel is the closest to the front gate so I could already see Liwanu with his face, fat and fur pressed as close as he could get and surprisingly Abeka with her two front paws on the… Continue

Reality

Today I learned the reality of what could happen if owners are irresponsible with their animals.

I have 2 hybrids and a Siberian husky that share my life with me (the sibe lives with me but I do not own her). I live on the coast and have an abundance of hiking trails behind my house and me and my dogs are out exploring and exercising on a daily basis. We do a lot of off leash hiking and rarely have problems, but in the end, none of my animals are 100% reliable off lead. If I… Continue

An Amazing story of Survival ... Enjoy!!!

Meet the wiliest of all coyotes: Hit by a car at 75mph, embedded in the fender, road for 600 miles - and SURVIVED!

When a brother and sister struck a coyote at 75mph they assumed they had killed the animal and drove on.

They didn't realize this was the toughest creature ever to survive a hit-and-run.

Eight hours, two fuel stops, and 600 miles later they found the wild animal embedded in their front fender - and very much alive.

Daniel and Tevyn East were driving at… Continue

Shakira's new She Wolf album

Hey everyone ... I just love the positive attention that wolves are getting lately ... the same week we have the New Moon movie releasing tonight and Shakira's She Wolf song and album releasing in a few days ... that seems to be an amazing opportunity to reach a segment of the general public that doesn't typically follow wild life and environment protection campaigns. So let's put our brains together to come up with creative ways to ride this wave of free massive advertisement for wolf programs… Continue
