Do you recall a scene in the 1990 western film, Dances with Wolves” when Kevin Costner runs with and gets tripped by a wolf named Two Socks?

Well this is close to what I saw when I visited my daughter, Dani and her wolfdog, Tigerlily this weekend. She couldn’t wait to take me to Wolf Connections, Villalobos Rescue to meet Teo, her friends and all the wolves at the sanctuary on Saturday, April 24th. We were the first ones there, along with Drew, to help with the introductions. The
wolves are magnificent! They were so excited to have visitors. Dani & Drew took me to each pen and told me about each of their characteristics and antics! Then Drew let 2 of the wolves out for their run in the field above. Marvelous! And there it was…..

blush, Drew. All the wolves had their turn to play, visit with pack leader, Teo, pack members, Dani, Drew, Rene & Chelsea as well as go on a hike with me and other volunteers. It was an exciting morning, but there was more to come.

The wolves were invited to a party and we were the chaperons! Ha ha. A very enamored birthday celebrant in Palisades wanted to show off the wolves
and support the cause by asking for donations in lieu of gifts. What a great idea! So we all went to the party. The wolves were relaxed and enjoyed the
attention. Unfortunately, they couldn’t have the yummy birthday cake.

This is what I shall remember the most--- and proud to witness---the care, loyalty and devotion of these magnificent animals by individuals like yourselves.

and everyone for a memorable experience. I wish
you, all the best in your belief that these animals need support and are deserving of a better life!
