Panama March 24, 1994 written after reading WWRWTW and sent to Clarissa Estes: HUESOS
I've been singing o'er the bones
trying to coax them back to life
so the cycle can continue
so the power can be drawn
from the never-ending circle
where the Woman Wild within me
waits to lead me there beyond,
and where'er she goes I'll follow
(tho the predator e'er chase me)
with her senses at my calling
I'll o'ercome again to show
a path of light for those beside me
over here and down below.
Still her spirit now will guide me
where believe me I shall go
as the bones which lie before me
once my bodies did surround
And through nature's grace and bounty
may again there dance around.
I'm just a woman in transition
incubating for the show
calling songs from deep inside me
so my soul can cast its glow
singing now this call to raise you
Beloved relics of my pasts
re the darkness doth return here
ending dreams of peace which lasts.
Tho you shake your head and doubt me
I'll not rest until they're cast
And La Loba runs beside me
Enjoining me to run as fast.
